Testimonials

"The French Journey has been a very gentle, inspiring way for me to learn French and in the process taste and learn about the food of France.

Thank you Nathalie and Caroline for your wonderful program and patience!

Highly recommended".

"The course 'Le français de la cuisine, de l'alimentation et de la restauration' is a fantastic interactive new way to understand French culture, habits, communicate to order, taste, and purchase culinary delights. Each session is delivered in a friendly ambience and appeals to various learning styles. It is structured with enough versitility to discuss and explore the group's conversation. The teaching is stimulating and real, Nathalie and Caroline together make a production of language and cooking brilliantly entertwiened to make an inspiring learning environment. Weather you do this course for hobby or to academically expand your language skills this course is a real 'plaisir'. "

"The French Journey has been a fantastic introduction to the French language, culture and most importantly food. Nathalie and Caroline have put a great deal of time into the preparation of each class and this has certainly contributed to warm, friendly and interactive Saturday morning French experience. As a complete beginner I was a little concerned that I would struggle with grasping an understanding of the language, however Nathalie was aware of the level of each of the participants and was able to target the conversation accordingly, stretching everyone!

The class has a terrific mix of discussion, visual learning through a DVD, and audio learning through Nathalie and Caroline's teaching (also the French cafe music quietly in the background). Conversation in French is encouraged and gently supported throughout each class.

Caroline's menu selection for each lesson is always a treat and she always shares the tips her mum gave to her when she was a young girl in France. The use of fresh and mostly organic ingredients just adds to the already fantastic taste sensations. I have learnt a considerable amount in my first term, just affirming my passion for all things French - I'll be back next term. Thanks Nathalie and Caroline"

"I am enjoying the classes and feel that I am making some progress, at least with understanding the written French and recognising the spoken French.

I am sure as I begin to consolidate the lessons, my pronunciation recall of French phrases will improve.

I think the format of your classes is great with a relaxed home atmosphere, wonderful hosts and beautiful meals. Not really like a language class at all. The warmth and enthusiasm that you both have for French culture means that we are learning from passionate people to help us absorb not just the language but the essence of the French way of life.

The interactive sessions help to apply the learnings to practical situations rather than just focus on teaching texts.

Congratulations on your success with your various classes so far".

"I am thoroughly enjoying your course. It is educational, fun, interesting and diverse and all of that in a relaxed atmosphere. The practical approach to French is refreshing and hits the nail on the head for people who will be travelling to France in the near future. From booking a hotel room to shopping at the market to asking for directions. The French interaction with the other students is a great way to practise what you have taught us. Then the recipes you present to us each lesson are so delicious that they entice us to try them at home. It also prevents the lessons from becoming another language course.

I will certainly be coming back for the next course!"
